Bus Rules/Regulations
The following rules and regulations insure the safest, most enjoyable and efficient transportation for your children.
1. Students must be at bus stop on time. Students should be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before bus arrives. Bus operates on a fixed schedule.
2. While waiting at the bus stop, students must wait on sidewalk, driveway, or as far off of traveled portion of the road as possible.
3. Students must wait in an orderly manner and wait until bus comes to complete stop before approaching the bus.
4. If it is necessary to cross street or roadway, students must wait until driver signals them to cross and cross the street or roadway 10-15 feet in front of the bus to ensure that the driver sees them.
5. Students must enter bus single file and be seated as quickly as possible.
6. Upon leaving bus; wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before standing to exit. Standing is not permitted on a moving bus.
7. Exit single file in an orderly manner and walk away from the bus.
8. Upon leaving bus, if student must cross roadway, walk approximately 10‑15 feet forward so the driver can see the student. Do not cross until driver signals you to do so.
9. The operator of any school bus shall be responsible for the order and conduct of the pupils transported.
10. The operator has the responsibility to assign seats and will be directed to do so as a matter of policy.
11. Pupils should obey promptly and willingly any reasonable directive of the driver.
12. Outside of ordinary conversation, classroom conduct is to be observed. Shouting, vulgar language or gestures are not permitted.
13. Pupils must remain seated with feet on the floor in front of them; not in the aisle or draped over the seat back. Students must sit facing forward while the bus is in motion as if they were wearing seatbelts.
14. Students may not board or depart from a bus at any other stop than that which has been properly authorized by school authorities.
15. Pupils will not extend hands, arms, heads or objects from the bus windows at any time.
16. Pupils are not permitted to shout, or gesture to passing vehicles or pedestrians from the bus.
17. Students may adjust windows only when permitted to do so by the driver.
18. Pupils may not throw any object including trash or paper either from within or out of the bus while waiting for, riding, or after leaving the bus. A trash can is provided.
19. Riders must stay out of the driver's seat and may not tamper with any operating equipment.
20. Students may not exit from the emergency door unless directed to do so by the driver.
21. Eating and drinking food and beverages on the bus is prohibited. Neither food nor liquids are permitted on the bus except in school lunch bags or lunch pails.
22. The use of tobacco, drugs or alcohol in any form shall not be permitted on the bus.
23. Animals, knives, matches, firearms including cap and water pistols, explosives, glass and other similar breakables, or any other items creating a safety hazard are not permitted on the bus. Necessary school books and backpacks are permitted. Other items are not permitted.
24. Students needing to ride any bus other than their regular assigned bus must give driver a note from their principal using the form provided.
25. Students desiring to take another student home with them who does not normally ride a particular bus must obtain prior permission from bus driver or authorization from their principal to assure the bus is not overloaded.
26. Teachers, especially sponsors of activity trips need to be aware of bus regulations.
27. Absolute quiet is required at railroad crossings. The driver will turn off all radios and illuminate the dome lights to alert students to be absolutely quiet. This is a requirement of the State of Tennessee, Pupil Transportation; and Sumner County Schools.
28. The use of cell phones and/or recording devices is specifically prohibited on the bus.

Bus Discipline Regulations
Pupils transported in a school bus shall be under the authority of and responsible directly to the operator of the bus, unless otherwise assigned by proper authorities. Continued disorderly conduct or persistent refusal to submit to the authority of the operator shall be sufficient reason for refusing transportation to any pupil. The operator of any school bus shall be responsible for the order and conduct of the pupils transported. Drivers are required to report misbehavior by students on the bus. When an incident report issued for inappropriate behaviors on the bus, the following procedure will be followed:
School Bus Conduct
Students who come to school on the bus should return home on the bus unless they have a note from their parent/guardian. Riding the bus to school is a privilege. Improper conduct on the bus will result in suspension from riding the bus. All students on the bus are under the authority of the bus driver and must obey his/her rules. The drivers will report any misconduct to the principal immediately. Students are to maintain proper conduct while waiting for the bus. Bus riders should pay close attention to the announcements in the afternoons for bus numbers and possible changes. It is their responsibility to listen and go directly to the bus when their bus is called in the afternoon. If a student should miss a bus in the afternoon, he/she should have someone they can contact to come and get them at school.
Students may only bring items on the bus that can be held in their lap. No item may block the aisle of the bus. No live animals, balloons or glass containers will be allowed on the bus. The driver will have control as to what will be allowed to be brought on the bus for the safety of all the students.
School Bus Conduct Policy
The school bus is an extension of school activity; therefore, the Board expects students to conduct themselves on the bus in a manner consistent with the established standards for safety and classroom behavior.
Students are under the supervision and control of the bus driver while on the bus and all reasonable directions given by the driver shall be followed.
The principal of the student transported shall be informed by the bus driver of any serious discipline problem and may be called upon to assist if necessary. A student may be denied the privilege of riding the bus if determined by the principal that their behavior is such as to cause disruption on the bus, or when they disobey state or local rules and regulations pertaining to student transportation. Parents/students must provide transportation to and from school should they be denied transportation because of suspension.
Any student who gets off the bus at any point between pick‑up point and school must present the bus driver with a note of authorization from the parent or the principal of the school that they attend.
Any student wishing to ride a bus other than their designated bus must have written parental permission and approved by the principal or their designee.
Incident Reports
The bus driver will discuss the incident with the student(s). All students involved may be included in the discussion. The driver will send the incident report to the office. The bus driver and student(s) may come into the office and discuss the ticket with the administrator or designated person. The student will contact their parent/guardian to discuss the bus incident report and behaviors that occurred. The administrator will discuss the bus incident report issue with parent/guardian by phone, in person, or in writing. The incident report is to be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to the school the following school day. Below are the consequences for receiving a bus incident report.

Autobús Reglamento / Normativa
Las siguientes normas y reglamentos asegurar la más segura, más
agradable y eficiente de transporte para sus hijos.
1. Los estudiantes deben estar en parada de autobús a tiempo. Los
estudiantes deben estar en la parada de autobús al menos 5 minutos
antes de autobús llega. Autobús opera en un horario fijo.
2. Mientras espera en la parada del autobús, los estudiantes deben
esperar en la acera, calzada, o como muy lejos viajó de parte de la
carretera como sea posible.
3. Los estudiantes deben esperar en una manera ordenada y espere
hasta que el autobús llega a detenerse completamente antes de
abordar el autobús.
4. Si es necesario cruzar la calle o carretera, los estudiantes
deben esperar hasta conductor que permitan el cruce de señales y
cruzar la calle o carretera 10-15 pies en frente del autobús de
forma que el conductor vea.
5. Los estudiantes deben entrar en el autobús solo archivo y se
sentará lo más rápidamente posible.
6. Al salir el autobús, espere hasta que el autobús llegue a una
parada completa antes de pie para salir. Permanente no está
permitido en un autobús en movimiento.
7. Salir solo archivo de una manera ordenada y de pie el autobús.
8. Al salir el autobús, si el estudiante debe cruzar la calle,
caminar unos 10-15 pies hacia adelante de modo que el conductor
pueda ver al estudiante. No cruce las señales hasta el conductor se
le indique.
9. El operador de cualquier autobús escolar será responsable de la
orden y la conducta de los alumnos transportados.
10. El operador tiene la responsabilidad de asignar los asientos y
se dirigen a que lo hagan como cuestión de política.
11. Los alumnos deben obedecer con prontitud y de forma voluntaria
cualquier razonable directiva del conductor.
12. Fuera de la conversación ordinaria, el aula es la conducta que
deben observarse. Gritos, lenguaje vulgar o gestos no están
permitidos.
13. Los alumnos deben permanecer sentados con los pies en el suelo
delante de ellas, no en los pasillos o cubiertos durante el respaldo
del asiento. Los estudiantes deben sentarse mirando hacia adelante
mientras que el autobús está en movimiento como si se tratara de
usar los cinturones de seguridad.
14. Los estudiantes no pueden salir a bordo o de un autobús en la
parada de cualquier otra que la que ha sido debidamente autorizada
por las autoridades escolares.
15. Los alumnos no extender las manos, los brazos, la cabeza o los
objetos de las ventanas del autobús en cualquier momento.
16. Los alumnos no están autorizados a gritar, o gesto de paso de
vehículos o peatones en el autobús.
17. Los estudiantes pueden ajustar las ventanas sólo cuando le
autorice a hacerlo por el conductor.
18. Los alumnos no pueden tirar cualquier objeto o basura incluyendo
papel, ya sea desde dentro o fuera del autobús a la espera de que, a
caballo, o después de salir el autobús. Un bote de basura es siempre.
19. Los viajeros deben permanecer fuera del asiento del conductor y
no pueden manipular con cualquier equipo.
20. Los estudiantes no pueden salir de la puerta de emergencia a
menos que lo indique el conductor.
21. Comer y beber alimentos y bebidas en el autobús está prohibida.
Ni alimentos ni los líquidos se permiten en el autobús, excepto en
las bolsas de almuerzo escolar o almuerzo cubos.
22. El uso de tabaco, drogas o alcohol en cualquier forma no se
permitirá en el autobús.
23. Animales, cuchillos, fósforos, armas de fuego incluidas la tapa
y pistolas de agua, explosivos, de vidrio y otros similares pueden
quebrar, o cualquier otro artículo la creación de un peligro para la
seguridad no se permiten en el autobús. Necesarios los libros
escolares y mochilas están permitidos. Otras partidas no están

24. Estudiantes que necesitan viajar a cualquier autobús que no es
su ordinario de autobús asignado conductor debe dar una nota de su
actividad principal en el formulario previsto.
25. Los estudiantes que deseen tener en casa con otro estudiante que
ellos normalmente no andar en autobús particular, deberá obtener
previamente el permiso de conductor de autobús o autorización de su
director para asegurar el autobús no está sobrecargado.
26. Los profesores, especialmente los patrocinadores de la actividad
de los viajes deben ser conscientes de los reglamentos de autobuses.
27. Absoluta tranquilidad es necesaria en los cruces de ferrocarril.
El conductor se apagará todas las radios y luces iluminan la cúpula
de alertar a los estudiantes a estar absolutamente tranquilo. Este
es un requisito del Estado de Tennessee, el transporte de alumnos y
las Escuelas del Condado de Sumner.
28. El uso de teléfonos celulares y / o dispositivos de grabación
está prohibido expresamente en el autobús.

Reglamento de Disciplina de autobús
Los alumnos transportados en un autobús escolar estará bajo la
autoridad directa del responsable y al operador del autobús, a menos
que se asignan por autoridades competentes. Continuación conducta

Conducta Escolar
Los estudiantes que vienen a la escuela en el autobús debe
regresar a su casa en el autobús a menos que tengan una nota de su
padre / madre o tutor. Viajar en el autobús a la escuela es un
privilegio. Conducta impropia en el autobús dará lugar a la
suspensión de viajar en el autobús. Todos los estudiantes en el
autobús están bajo la autoridad del chofer del autobús y debe
obedecer sus normas. Los conductores se informe de cualquier mala
conducta al director inmediatamente. Los estudiantes deben mantener
su propia conducta, mientras esperan el autobús. Corredores de
autobuses debería prestar mucha atención a los anuncios en las
tardes de los números de autobús y los posibles cambios. Es su
responsabilidad de escuchar e ir directamente a la parada del
autobús cuando el autobús se llama en la tarde. Si un estudiante
debe faltar un autobús en la tarde, él / ella debe tener contacto

Los estudiantes sólo podrán traer artículos en el autobús que se
celebrará en su regazo. Ninguna partida podrá bloquear el pasillo
del autobús. No los animales vivos, globos o envases de vidrio se
permitirá en el autobús. El conductor tiene el control de lo que se
le permitirá ser llevados en el autobús de la seguridad de todos los
estudiantes.
Política de Conducta Escolar
El autobús escolar es una extensión de las actividades escolares,
por lo tanto, la Junta espera que los estudiantes a comportarse en
el autobús de una manera compatible con las normas establecidas para
la seguridad y la clase de comportamiento.
Los estudiantes están bajo la supervisión y el control del conductor
de autobús, mientras que en el autobús y todas las instrucciones
dadas por el conductor deberá seguir.
El principal de los estudiantes transportados será informado por el
conductor del autobús de cualquier problema de disciplina graves y
podrán ser llamados a prestar asistencia si es necesario. Un
estudiante puede ser negado el privilegio de viajar en el autobús si
se determina por el principio de que su comportamiento es tal que
causa trastornos en el autobús, o cuando el estado o desobedecer las
normas locales y los reglamentos relacionados con el transporte de
estudiantes. Los padres, los estudiantes deben proveer el transporte
hacia y desde la escuela en caso de que se les niega el transporte a
causa de la suspensión.
Cualquier estudiante que se baja del autobús en cualquier punto
entre el punto de recogida y de la escuela debe presentar el
conductor del autobús con una nota de autorización de los padres o
el director de la escuela a la que asisten.
Cualquier estudiante que desee montar un autobús que no es su
autobús designada debe tener permiso de los padres por escrito y
aprobado por el director o su designado.
Informes de incidentes
El conductor del autobús que discutir el incidente con el estudiante(s).
Todos los estudiantes participantes podrán incluirse en el debate.
El conductor se enviará el informe de incidente a la oficina. El
conductor del autobús y el estudiante (s) pueden entrar en la
oficina y discutir el billete con el administrador o persona
designada. El estudiante se pondrá en contacto con su padre / madre
o tutor para discutir el incidente de autobús informe y
comportamientos que se han producido. El administrador de discutir
